Product Information

PKZ5275 Stinson Reliant SR-10 PNP

First introduced in 1938, the Stinson SR-10 is as much a work
of art as a work of engineering. The combination of its graceful
lines and unique wing shape give you the sense it’s reaching
for the sky even when it’s parked on the ramp.

Parkzone has expertly modeled this aviation classic to give you
a civilian scale experience unlike anything else. It comes out of
the box loaded with scale details like an authentic paint scheme
and markings, molded ribbing in the wings, a simulated radial
engine, accurately modeled landing gear and much more. A
robust ParkZone 480 brushless motor power system provides
plenty of power for everything from half-throttle cruising to full-
throttle sport aerobatics. You also have the option of adding
flaps. And it will do it all with the same smooth sport flying
manners you’ve come to expect from a ParkZone plane.

All you need is a 4-channel full range transmitter and receiver, a 3S 11.1Volt 1800mAh Li-Po battery, and a 3S Li-Po charger.

The Stinson Reliant

Manufactured by the Stinson Aircraft Division of the Aviation Manufacturing Corporation of Wayne, Michigan the Stinson Reliant was a four-to-five seat commercial monoplane designed for private operators and small charter companies.

The brainchild of E.A. "Eddie" Stinson it was regarded as a strikingly handsome aircraft with its distinctive “gull wing”, it also featured excellent handling qualities and could easily recover from a stall and return to level flight virtually “hands free”.

Equipped with the latest state of the art navigation and communication radios of the day the Stinson was very popular with executive charter services as well as with the more independent wealthy buyers.

During 1939 the Reliant was also used to test a unique airmail service for
out lying communities in America that did not have landing fields. Mail was
loaded into a container which was then placed on top of a contraption
resembling a goal post. As the pilot guided the airplane down, the flight
officer held a grappling hook to snag the container. Mail destined for the
community was then dropped from the plane onto the airfield.

Military versions of the Reliant known as the AT-19 were built by America
for British use during World War 2 and some 500 were used by the Royal
Navy and the Fleet Air Arm (FAA). The Fleet Air Arm Stinson Reliant I was
the Royal Navy equivalent of the AT-19. The first to be delivered was FB544
to the Station Flight Henstridge in June 1944 closely followed by the first
squadron being equipped with the Reliant, 759 Squadron in August 1944.
